We had our first doctor's appointment on Tuesday morning. We, of course, got a positive pregnancy test! I had to get blood work done and we got scheduled for our first sonogram to tell a more accurate due date. We ended up being at the doctor's office for 5 1/2 hours that day!! From the sonogram, they determined that I was 5 weeks and 1 day along and our due date is January 16, 2012.
I will post on here with all our other updates!
Next doctor's appointments is scheduled for June 8th and we will get another sonogram. We should be able to hear the heart beat!!!!!!!!

Our new family!
Hi everyone! I am sure everyone knows by now, but we are PREGNANT!
I found out this past Monday morning after some suspicion. I hadn't told Dustin that I was taking the test - after we had taken many in the past with negative results, I didn't want to get his hopes up. I took the first (of 3!) tests and it was a wacky +/- test. Would not recommend to anyone! :) I had to look at the box 50 times before I realized that it was actually positive. I, of course, started FREAKING out. Dustin was at school already, so I couldn't easily call him and I also wanted to make sure that it was truly positive. I decided to drive to Wal-Greens to get another brand of test that would tell me for sure - without a doubt!
After two more tests, the results were in - PREGGO! :) I was overwhelmed and excited and scared and thrilled. I didn't know what to do with myself! I had to call someone, and I knew I couldn't really call Dustin so I called my mom. Maybe not the best decision - in hindsight I should have told Dustin first - but I did it anyway. My little sister was also at home, so they both found out first.
I decided that I would go to Lawrence - I was at the shop at the time - to get Dustin and small present to tell him. I asked if I could meet him for lunch. He had regional baseball tournaments that afternoon and the team left town at noon, so he asked if we could do it another time. I told him that it was important that I talked to him that day and he started to get concerned. I told him that I couldn't tell him over emails and that I would meet him at school.
I got to school and showed up with a small package wrapped with blue and pink paper. He still had 45 minutes of teaching left before I could tell him my news. I think he started to figure it out. :) I bought him a Daddy's Survival Guide and a book called Daddy's Kisses. When he opened it, I think he was in shock. We immediately called his mom and dad and brother. We told the rest of our family throughout the day.
That evening we went on a date to Zen Zero - the restaurant where we had our first date. What a full circle.
I called the doctor that afternoon and made an appointment for the next day........
